Published

on

Zamtel has officially opened its new ultra-modern Customer Service Centre in Lusaka’s Woodlands area.

The Industrial Development Cooperation Group Chief Executive Officer Mateyo Kaluba officially opened the new Centre which is located along Independence Avenue.

And IDC Chief Executive Officer Mateyo Kaluba has called on state owned enterprises to engage in constant customer improvement initiatives.

Mr Kaluba said state ownership should not be an excuse for poor customer services.

He said the notion that Zambian companies should be associated with poor customer services must come to an end.

Mr Kaluba stressed that ownership should also not have any bearing on whether or not a company is profitable.

He noted that with a competent Management and Board in place, state owned companies are expected to deliver results.

And Zamtel Chief Executive Officer Sydney Mupeta explained that the Woodlands Zamtel Customer Service Center will serve as a one-stop-shop for all customer needs.

Mr Mupeta said the facility also have an experiential center where Zamtel customers can come and experience some of the products and services on offer including access to free Wi-Fi.

He said the Woodlands Customer Service Center will also house some of the critical network elements that will be a replica of what is contained at Lamya House.

“As you may be aware, Lamya House is the heart of the Zamtel network and Woodlands will be the second heart. This facility will provide full redundancy for all services that we provide to our customers. What this means is that with this redundancy, the probability of a complete network outage has been minimized if not completely eliminated,” Mr Mupeta said.

“Therefore, the challenges that we faced in the past, such as the network outage that lasted for more than 17 hours, will be a thing of the past.”
