Zamtel has pledged to continue implementing strategies aimed at transforming the state owned telecoms company into a customer-centric organization.

Zamtel Acting Chief Commercial Officer Keith Banda said the company is now building a Customer is King mentality in order to provide quality customer service.

Mr Banda said one of the key objectives of the new strategy is to ensure the provision of reliable and fast internet services to its customers.

He said Zamtel has over the years invested heavily in new infrastructure which has seen a marked improvement in the quality of both voice and internet services.

Mr Banda was speaking in Lusaka on Thursday when Zamtel presented a rewards gift to ZANACO Chief Executive Officer Mukwandi Chibesakunda at the Bank’s Headquarters as part of Customer Service Week.

Customer Service Week is an international celebration of the importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis.

This year’s Customer Service Week has been running from October 4th and ends today under the theme, “Service of Power.”

“We thank you very much for the custom that you give us. We hope that you continue giving us that custom and obviously hope that you give us a lot more. You have stuck with us when we have had network issues and when the network has been good, you have always been with us through thick and thin and i hope we have there for you as well,” Mr Banda said.

He added, “We apologize to all our customers for any interruption of service but we are working day in and day out to ensure that we give you an excellent service. I think over the past three, four months, you have seen an improvement in the quality of internet service. We are focused on implementing a customer-centric, Customer is king mentality and we are working very much to ensure that we meet your needs.”

And Ms. Chibesakunda thanked Zamtel for recognizing ZANACO’s long standing business relationship and welcomed plans to explore other areas of possible partnerships.

“I really do appreciate this and if we are that extra special to Zamtel, I really do appreciate the gesture and it will only encourage us to do more,” Mrs Chibesakunda said.

“There are definitely opportunities for further partnerships and we are looking forward to making that happen and I am certain going into the next year, we can make that happen.”

The distribution of the farm inputs for the 2021-2022 farming season starts tomorrow, says President Hakainde Hichilema

PRESIDENT  Hakainde Hichilema has announced that the distribution of the farm inputs for the 2021-2022 farming season to all farmers across the country will start tomorrow the 18th of October, 2021.

And the Head of State has appealed to traditional leaders across the Country to avoid selling land to foreigners at the expense of Zambians.

In his Facebook post,President Hichilema has assured farmers across the country that they will receive their fertilizer tomorrow.

“This afternoon we held a meeting with His Royal Highness, Chief Liteta of the Lenje speaking people in Central Province.

During the meeting, through His royal highness, we appealed to all traditional leaders across the Country to avoid selling land to foreigners at the expense of you, Zambians,” he said.

He said land as a matter of ownership and empowerment, must first be given to Zambians and Zambians first and that those Zambians without capital and out of their own volition can get into joint ventures with citizens from other countries.

The Head of State said in order to ensure that service delivery is prompt, more funding for constituencies will be allocated and for the first time in the history of the country, local people will be deciding on how to use the funds as this will help curtail corruption that has been unprecedented at National level.

“And later we thanked the people of Liteta for voting for us but also stated that we are aware  of the people’s hopes in us and that come this December, the current budget will be shut and ours will begin in January, 2022 and once we start using our own budget, all Zambians will start seeing the benefits of voting for change,” President Hichilema said.

He said government understand the challenges that the Agriculture is facing which were mainly induced by the previous regime’s awarding of Fertilizer contracts to suppliers for two years without due diligence.

President  Hichilema said his administration is but on track and will ensure that agriculture sector does not die in the Country.

“Dear Zambians. Take your pens and notebooks and start taking down what we are delivering as per our vision.

So far, we have kicked out caderism and this led to freedoms in public places with only a few cases of not accepting change remaining currently but we will manage this. It is a process and let’s all get involved and get it solved,” he said.

He has further urged people of Chisamba to vote for UPND Council Chairperson candidate Fred Choongo.
