Yango, an international service for ordering rides online, has today launched a delivery solution on the existing Yango app. Yango Delivery is aimed at assisting small and medium entrepreneurs bring their products closer to their customers’ doorsteps and will thrive on speedy delivery by motorbikes and location accuracy.
Yango is poised to be an app for ordering both rides and deliveries that furthers the strategy to build alternative revenue streams and profit pools for a multitude of business users.
Ms. Sibongile Munthali, Business Development Manager for Yango Delivery Zambia reiterated Yango’s commitment to providing technological transport solutions to business: “We are extremely excited to launch this delivery service especially at a time when christmas sales and bad traffic season are ensue. We believe this service will enable both businesses and customers to send and receive their packages faster and at the convenience of their specific locations”.
Yango app uses its own mapping, routing, and navigation as well as smart order distribution. These technologies significantly reduce the mileage and the net cost of the delivery trip and ensure efficient use of couriers’ time while providing predictable and affordable service to clients.
“We signed on for Yango delivery service in September 2022 during the trial period and so far, our business has soared. What has been beneficial is the accuracy of locating our customers when the service sits on the app. Due to the consistent business, revenue streams have increased allowing us to invest more in other equipment and that will enhance our business. Operating on the Yango Delivery App has been extremely convenient for us” – Tawanda Nyamukapa owner of Fratelli’s Diner, Lusaka.
Yango Delivery is currently available in Lusaka with a service of express delivery. It doesn’t operate its own delivery vehicles. Instead, it facilitates local partners to find orders and provide their delivery services by car or motorbike to individuals or businesses.
Yango mobile app for iOS and Android is available for free download in English, and many other languages. To order a delivery, users download the app, open it, choose the delivery option and specify where they want it picked up from and shipped to. When geolocation is enabled, the service pinpoints where the user is and finds the nearby courier who will arrive the fastest. It’s a cash-only service, when a user makes an order, they input the destination address and the app algorithms automatically calculate the maximum estimated price of the trip so that it is known ahead of time.
Except for express delivery, in other countries Yango Delivery offers solutions for alternative delivery scenarios, like same day delivery and next day delivery, becoming a one-stop shop logistics solution for businesses of any size. According to the company, these alternative modes are efficient for many categories of goods in terms of medium-sized and large companies. Wider delivery time windows are a good chance to deliver more with less vehicles, launch delivery seamlessly or, for example, scale easier in a market.

The most recent Lusaka Motor Show took place at East Park Mall Piazza in November 2022, attracting over 60 brands. Beginning this year, the organizers will be expanding their reach by hosting shows in both Copperbelt in May and Lusaka in October.
The Copperbelt Motor Show will be held at the luxurious Garden Court Kitwe Hotel, a property located in the heart of Copperbelt, from May 5th to 7th, 2023. The General Manager of Garden Court Kitwe has expressed excitement about hosting the event, which not only creates a platform for the motor and mining industry but also promotes local tourism. Many exhibitors from Lusaka are expected to attend and participate in the grand event, and the hotel is proud to be a partner in the Copperbelt Motor Show.
As the largest motoring exhibition the Copperbelt has ever seen, the show will feature the latest cars, trucks, buses, bikes, batteries, tyres, lubricants, tracking facilities, spare parts dealers, insurance providers, road safety, mining equipment, and leasing. A section dedicated to classic cars will also be available, catering to automotive enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The Copperbelt Motor Show is poised to positively impact economic growth by creating jobs, increasing demand, and fostering networking opportunities that can transform into business ventures.
