MUFULIRA Wanderers patron Anthony Mumba has warned supporters against making unethical suggestions to him as the team prepares to take part in the Super League.
Mumba revealed that previously, there have been some people who have suggested that he pay referees to give unfair advantage to Wanderers.
“I have had people here telling to pay referees. Don’t come to me! We don’t engage in that in here, you lose or you win. Everyone one of us God has given us that opportunity; there is no team between the two that God hates.
“Whoever wins, wins don’t come and say ‘no, honourable as patron namumona abanesu bala chita ifi, no…” Mumba said in Mufulira yesterday during the kit unveiling ceremony.
On Sunday, Wanderers will mark their return to the Super League with a home game against Green Buffaloes at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira after spending two seasons in Division One.
The legendary cup fighters have inked two sponsorship deals with a combined worth US$130,000 for the next two season from Gal Sport Betting – Zambia and Peskar Energy Limited.
Gal Sport will pump in US$100,000 while Peskar are expected to contribute US$30,000 half of which will be in monitory terms while half will be in administrative support.
Mumba who is also Kantanshi Member of Parliament hailed the two firms for coming on board and sponsor the nine – time league champions.
Meanwhile, Gal Sport Betting representative Bwezani Mbewe said his firm was proud to be associated with Wanderers, a team that rich history in Zambia.
