Prof. Patrick Lumumba denied entry into Zambia 



KENYAN intellectual, legal expert and scholar, Professor Patrick Loch Otiena Lumumba, has been denied entry into Zambia.

Professor Lumumba was stopped and denied by immigration officers, soon after arriving on a Kenyan Airways commerical plane at Kenneth International Airport in Lusaka this afternoon.

Professor Lumumba was scheduled to address a public forum at Golden Peacock Hotel in Lusaka today.

He was also tomorow expected to speak at another public forum organised by Eden University and a local private television station.



Antonio Mwanza steps down as PF Youth National Chairman and Media Director.



PATRIOTIC Front (PF) national youth chairman and party media director Antonio Mwanza has stepped down from his positions.

In a media statement, Mr Mwanza said he will remain an ordinary member of the party’s central committee.

“Further, I wish to indicate that I will also be stepping down as the party’s media director.

I pledge my loyalty and commitment to the Party and I pledge to continue working hard for the furtherance of the PF’s agenda,” he said.

Mr Mwanza thanked  President Edgar  Lungu for the trust and confidence he exhibited in him for the appointments.

Chishimba Kambwili, son, two ZRA officials acquitted, by Lusaka Magistrate Court



THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has acquitted former National Democratic Congress (NDC) party Chishimba Kambwili of forgery and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime amounting to over K6 million.

Delivering judgment in the matter today, Lusaka High Court judge Mwaka Mikalile, sitting as a principal resident magistrate, acquitted Kambwili and others because the prosecution failed to prove the allegations against them.

Magistrate Mikalile said Kambwili during his defence provided the court with evidence of his legitimate sources of income.

She said Kambwili also provided evidence of the contracts he had with companies such as China Henan and had various businesses which he was running.

The court also acquitted Mwamba and Mwamona Engineering Technical Services.

And in acquitting two ZRA employees – Brano Musonda and Mulenga Kapilima, magistrate Mikalile said she found them not guilty as they had authority to prepare the tax clearance certificate for Mwamona Engineering and Technical Services.

Kambwili’s lawyers Keith Mweemba and Gilbert Phiri did not show up in court today.

Kambwili was accompanied by his wife Carol while Matero PF member of parliament was also at court to offer support.

“It is beans”, President Hichilema is not announcing his Cabinet today, says State House



STATE HOUSE wishes to unequivocally
dispel as both untrue and unfounded, the rumour circulating on social media that
His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia is due
to address the media this evening and proceed to announce his Cabinet.
Contrary to the rumour, President Hichilema is continuing to meticulously and

dedicated team of talented people who will unquestionably commit themselves
to serve the national interest.
The President appeals for patience while he conducts this exercise but further
assures, that he is actively engaging all the critical stakeholders in ensuring that
the tone of leadership under his administration is not only inclusive but also diverse and responsive to the development needs of all citizens.
