MIDFIELDER Emmanuel Banda has said there is nothing intimidating about Egypt ahead of the international match between Chipolopolo and the Pharaohs in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today.
Egypt coach Rui Victoria has assembled a galaxy of Egypt’s finest talents which will be led by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah for the match that both teams are using as preparations for future engagements.
Banda said in an interview that Chipolopolo is in good shape and there is no reason the Avram Grant drilled team should be intimidated by Egypt.
“There is nothing intimidating in football because we are all 11 [players] on the pitch, “ Banda said, ”we play the same football we have good players on our side, very fast technical players I believe it will be an interesting game.”
Banda said Egypt’s great undoing would be to underestimate Zambia.
Zambia are enjoying good form under Grant, the team has a record of three wins and one draw in the four competitive matches that have been played under the Israeli.
“I am sure they will not underestimate us, they are going to bring their A – game the way we are going to do it so it will be interesting to see how it pans out,” Banda said.
Zambia begins their World Cup qualifiers next month with a home tie against Congo Brazaville before an away match against Niger.
Next year, they will juggle the Africa Cup of Nations alongside the World Cup qualifiers.
Other teams in Zambia’s World Cup qualifying group include Morocco, Tanzania and Eritrea.
