SUPER League side Napsa Stars have signed Nigerian striker Nazim Amokachi, son to Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi ahead of the new season.
Napsa are looking to compete for the ABSA Cup and push for the honours in the domestic league thus they have moved quickly to tie down some new additions to the club.
Also joining Perry Mutapa’s men is Saith Sakala who return from Saudi Arabia.
“The Club is excited to welcome Nigerian striker Nazim Amokachi. Nazim, who is the son to Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi joins from Nigerian Premier League side Lobi Stars FC on a two-year-deal,” Club Media and Public Relations Officer Gwen Chipasula said in a statement.
Chipasula’s statement also states that Sakala has joined on a season-long deal.
“Zambian striker Saith Sakala, who most recently featured for Saudi Arabian side Al-Leewa has joined the club for what will be his second spell after playing for the Pensioners during the 2016 season,” she stated “Sakala joins on a one-year-deal and is expected to inject new energy and skill into the NAPSA Stars forward line.”
Meanwhile club chief executive officer, Ponga Liwewe, expressed his optimism about the new additions.
“We have strengthened our squad with these two exceptional players, and we are confident that their contributions on and off the field will play a pivotal role in our success this upcoming season,” Liwewe said.
Liwewe also confirmed that the Club will use Woodlands Stadium for the 2023/2024 MTN Super League season.
“With renovation work scheduled to take place at Heroes Stadium, we are pleased to inform our fans, supporters, and the wider football community that NAPSA Stars Football Club will be utilizing Woodlands Stadium as our home venue for the 2023/24 season,” he said.
