Mrs Kennedy is in trouble, as police launch investigation of her allegedly giving alcohol to a child

POLICE have instituted investigations into a video which has emerged on social media in which vlogger Natasha Shindano popularly known as ‘Mrs Kennedy’ is seen giving alcohol to a child
In a statement to Mwebantu, police deputy spokesperson, Danny Mwale has since called on members of the public who may have information which will lead to the identification of Mrs Kennedy or guardian to report to the Police.
He said said administering alcohol to a child is an indication that the child is in need of care as demanded by the law.
“The circumstances in the video circulating on social media platforms were an adult female person is seen to be administering alcohol to a child are an indication that the child is in need of care as stipulated under Section 10 read with 9(a) of the Juvenile Act Chapter 53 of the Laws of Zambia,” he said.

Police detain Chilufya Tayali

POLICE in Lusaka have arrested Economic and Equity Party President, Chilufya Tayali for the offence of Defamation of the President.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said Mr Tayali’s follows a video which went viral on social media in which he made derogatory remarks against President Edgar Lungu.

“He is detained in police custody for the subject offence,” she said.

And after his arrest,  Mr. Tayali wrote on his Facebook page that police apprehended him because of his ‘few’ criticism against the Head of State.

“Just because of a few criticisms on President Lungu, they have arrested me. I guess they don’t want me on the ballot,” reads his post.

PF cadres seriously injure a police officer as they fought amongst themselves today

A POLICE officer is nursing serious injuries on his jaw during a clash of two Patriotic Front rival groupings this morning.

The incident happened before former National Democratic Congress party president announced his return to the PF at the secretariat.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said in a statement that the officer has been injured while a Police motor vehicle has also been smashed.

Mrs Katongo said the incident occurred when police officers responded to a report that some PF carders had descended on Innocent Kalimanshi who had gone to the secretariat where the party had a political activity.

She said police who rushed to the scene had their motor vehicle smashed in the process of whisking Kalimanshi away as the carders begun throwing stones at the Police Vehicle and one officer was injured on the jaw.

Mrs Katongo said cadres later damaged Kalimanshi’s motor vehicle.

She said police have instituted investigations in the matter with the aim of bringing perpetrators of the violence to book.

Mrs Katongo said police will not condone any form of violence hence anyone that will be found to have participated in today’s violence shall be dealt with in accordance with the law.

“We wish to reiterate our usual call for all political parties to ensure that they hold their political activities peacefully. In instances where some people maybe aggrieved for whatever reason , abrogation of the law should never be an option as it is criminal.

All those that took part in the violence should begin counting their days,” she said.

Six cops arrested allegedly stealing US$80,000 from a suspect, which they later shared after killing him.

SIX police officers among them an intelligence officer have been arrested on the Copperbelt for allegedly shooting dead an armed robber who stole US$80,000 from a businessman.

They officers are alleged to have stolen the cash from the criminal, which they later shared.

On Friday last week, a Chililabombwe businessman identified as Kelvin Chambwe was shot in the stomach at Helens in Chingola by armed robbers who got away with his US$80,000.

When the case was reported, police officers swung into action and managed to apprehend one person while others escaped.

And sources said the suspect was murdered by some police officers who have since been arrested.

The sources disclosed that those arrested are Chingola district criminal investigations officer Mbita Mpanzi, Chief inspector William Bwalya, district police intelligence chief inspector Eddie Chiyabi, Constables Cacious Bwalya, Christopher Kabwe and Chinondi Hinji.

The source further said the officers have been detained at Ndola central police.
