SERBIA–based Chipolopolo midfielder Kings Kangwa was last night gracious in defeat after his side, Red Star Belgrade lost 3 – 1 to defending champions Manchester City in the Champions League.
Kangwa made his Champions League debut, playing the last seven minutes of the game as his team went to the defending champions who survived a scare having gone down in the first half before staging a comeback in the second stanza.
There was nothing much to write home about Kangwa’s appearance understandably so because he came in at a time when the game was in its evening stage.
In terms of his contribution, Kangwa attempted one dribble, lost possession on two occasions, and won two of the four ground duels he was involved in.
After the game, he expressed his happiness at making his maiden appearance in what is considered as the biggest club competition on the planet.
“Forget about the defeat but keep content, NEXT!!,” Kangwa posted on Facebook, I’m super proud to have made UEFA Champions League debut, hungry for more. Thank you so much for the support. Lastly, that’s something I will never forget,”
