Employer arrested for allegedly sodomising his worker, police say

POLICE in Lusaka have detained an employer for allegedly sodomizing his garden boy.

This was after the victim 31, reported that his employer known as Dorras Ricardo aged 42 also of unmarked plot number in Lilayi area allegedly had canal knowledge with him  against the Order of Nature.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the incident is believed to have occurred on 10th September, 2022 at around 23;00hours in Lilayi.

“Brief facts of the matter are that the victim is employed by Ricardo as a garden boy and stays within the vicinity of the yard he operates from.

It is alleged that on 10th September, 2022 at around 23:00 hours, the victim whilst asleep in his apartment  heard Ricardo getting into his room and ordered him not to shout and forced him to have canal knowledge with him against the order of nature,” he said.

Mr Hamoonga said the suspect is detained in Police custody and charged with the offence of Unnatural Offences contrary to Section 155 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Eight Croatians who were charged with attempted child trafficking have been discharged.

A MATTER in which eight Croatians were arrested and charged for attempted child trafficking of four children from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been discontinued.

This is after the state made an application for the matter to be discontinued under section 88 (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Last year, the eight were arrested at the airport in Ndola on suspicion that they were attempting to traffic four children aged between one and three-years-old.

Damir Magic, an electrical technician ,Nadic Magic, a chemical teacher, Subosic Zoran, a musician, Immovic Subosic, a Constitutional Court administrator, Ladislav Persic, a veterinary doctor, Aleksandra Persic, a dog beauty stylist on ,Noah Kraljevic, a human rights activist and Ivona Kraljevic, a proxy woman at that country’s national theater, were arrested and charged for attempting to traffic children they had claimed to have adopted.

The couples who had been booked at a named lodge in Ndola had initially booked their rooms without having the children in question, but three days later, staff at the facility noticed the children when one of them could not stop crying.

However, the state through advocate Mahape Libakeni applied for the discontinuation of the case.

He said the matter which was meant to come up for continuation of trial was being discontinued by the people.

But, magistrate Dominic Makalicha who has granted the application in giving his ruling has warned that the discontinuation is not an acquittal.

“The matter is therefore discontinued. However, a reminder is that this is not an acquittal ,but a discharge,” he said.

12 people, among them teachers and a nurse arrested for attempting to sell a pupil living with albinism

POLICE in Mongu have stopped an inhumane and evil attempt by 12 people who  allegedly wanted to abduct and sell a 17-year-old boy living with albinism from a named school in Western province.

The 12 who have been arrested started plotting to abduct and sell the boy last year in October, but a quick response by police has led to their arrest.

Of the 12 arrested suspects, they include four teachers including a school matron aged 53, a nurse aged 33, a taxi driver and two men who work at a barbershop in Sefula, Mongu District.

The suspects were also found with diazepam tablets which were meant to put the victim to sleep once they captured him.

Zambia police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale who confirmed the incident said the 17-year-old boy of Sefula Combined school for the blind and living with albinism was meant to be captured by the suspects, but police intervened.

“Police recovered some medicine which were labeled as ‘Diazepam’ which and after interrogations, it was heard from the suspects that the medicine was intended to be given to the victim once he was captured.Police also recovered 12 cellular phones which were used for communication by the suspects. Investigations revealed that a plot to traffic a named Albino who is a learner at Sefula combined school for the Blind in Mongu District of Western Province started in October 2022 and a picture of the victim was sent to the purported buyers in Lusaka,” he said.

He said the suspects were all picked on Saturday between 01:00 hours and 04:00 hours in Sefula, Mongu District.

Unknown criminals attack Israeli ambassador to Zambia, stealing her diplomatic passport among other items, police say

ISRAEL’S Ambassador to Zambia Ofra Fargo was last week attacked by unknown people who robbed her of her bag containing an IPhone, Diplomatic passport, credit card and other personal items valued at USD$4,950.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects.

Police spokesperson Danny Mwale said the incident happened last week Friday, February 3rd around 22:30 hours along Manda Hill road in the capital city.

He said the suspects are believed to have been driving a white vehicle whose other details are not yet known.

“Brief facts are that the victim was  walking from the eating place behind Manda Hill shopping Mall in the company of her colleague only  identifiedas as Alex to Sarovar Hotel. During the attack, she was pushed to the ground and sustained general body pains.She was rushed to the hospital for medical attention,” he said.
