Awe, its too much, Kamanga must go, Bowman Lusambo says

LUSAKA province Minister Bowman Lusambo says Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga should take the blame for the Chipolopolo boy’s loss.

In his Facebook post, Lusambo said Kamanga should step aside to pave way for people who understand football from end to end to step in and clean up the mess.
“So another AFCON failure for the Chipolopolo. As a football fan, the rebuilding should start now but that rebuilding project should not be headed by the same people who brought it down.” He said.

He further said it is painful to see the game of football dying.

“The only consolation we have this time around is that the resignation will not be forced because Mr Kamanga voluntarily offered to resign on national TV on December 2, 2020 if Zambia fails to qualify to another AFCON.Well, it’s over 12 hours since Chipolopolo were kicked out of the race and we are anxiously waiting for the news conference announcing the inevitable-that the Kamanga era at FAZ has ended,” he said.

    UPND members fight over adoptions in Nchanga, ati kwachiba ama kofi, witness say

    60-YEAR-OLD UPND Nchanga Constituency Chairman Reuben Sitali is currently nursing body pains after his party members competed for a chance to knock out his teeth and massage his body with fists earlier today.
    The angry party members accused Sitali of favoring one group of aspirants over another.
    According to eyewitness accounts, from the party office where the confusion erupted from, after being attacked Sitali, tried to fight back but was overpowered sent scampering for life.
    However, a quick glance behind him showed fellow party members chasing after him with belts and sticks to discipline their erring constituency leader.
    Before they could have a sound go at him, the senior citizen managed to jump four drainages and zoomed his way to the Enquiries Desk at the Police Station.
    When asked what was behind his midday marathon, Sitali who was panting could not say a word and merely sat on the floor pointing to the direction from whence he had come.
    Only after about half an hour of laboured breathing did Chairperson Sitali narrate that a man nine years older than him called Mathew Shamanga,69 had beaten him.
    He lamented that senior citizen Shamanga had chosen to Jet Lee him after they had a heated quarrel over adoptions as either group favoured it’s own candidate and accused the other of being corrupted by their favoured candidate.
    He pleaded with the police to hold off   Shamanga’s as the old man’s beatings were not equivalent to his advanced age of 69.
    Sympathizing with his ordeal, police raced back to block a second wave of beatings on the Chairperson Sitali and arrested Shimanga.
    Meanwhile, the seven other arrested UPND officials apart from the alleged chiefbeater Shamanga are Felix Namela, Peter Bwalya, 29, Jonathan Mwansa, 23, Hope Kakoma, 22, Dalius Chisunga, 28, Anthony Vintula, 19, Mupeta Innocent, 23 and Phencel Mateyilo, 35.
    Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner has confirmed the fracas and arrests in a statement to Mwebantu.

    I AM confident that our party will remain in power after the August, 2021 elections. The people of Zambia have faith in our party. equally, the traditional leadership, the church and civil society have shown willingness to continue working with us in an effort to develop this country,” President Edgar Lungu has said.
    Speaking when he closed the Patriotic Front general conference today, President Lungu said his party will continue to listen to church, the civil society and the traditional leadership’s wisdom and counsel as well as the people’s concerns to better deliver on the party’s fresh mandate.
    Meanwhile, President Lungu said the selection of 54 members of the central committee is not dictatorial, but constitutional.
    He said he did his best in the selection process and has since urged those that applied and did not make it to the final list of members of the central committee to accept and defend the results by demonstrating true patriotism and commitment.
    President Lungu also emphasized that his party will continue to appoint women in leadership positions and has appealed to women to continue pushing for adoption ahead of the august general elections.
    “The PF government is a strong believer in gender equality. we shall ensure that women equally contribute to our success story, by being round the table of key decision-making processes. for this reason, i will continue to appoint women in positions of authority and influence,” he said.
    And the Head of State has re-appointed Davies Mwila as the PF Party’s Secretary General, saying there is no time to experiment appointments and changes with party leadership positions.
    “We have demonstrated, over the last ten years, that we are equal to the task of national development as well as national building. Our experience has equipped us with skills and wisdom to take this country to greater heights. we will build on the momentum that we have achieved so far. This is not the time to experiment with leadership. i call upon all those whose interest is to serve the people of Zambia to come and join us,” the President said.

    Police are after my life, when they are supposed to be saluting me, Tutwa Ngulube says

    KABWE Central constituency Member of Parliament, Tutwa Ngulube has written to Central province commissioner of police, Chola Katanga complaining that he was harassed by police officers during the Patriotic Front (PF) general conference in Kabwe.

    Mr Ngulube said he was harassed by police together with his professional assistant at Nkrumah University during the PF’s general conference.

    However, a video has emerged on social media showing Mr Ngulube differing with some police officers while describing the incident as b**t.

    He also alleged that some police officers were after his life.

    And in his letter addressed to the commissioner of police, Mr Ngulube alleges that Kabwe district commanding officer Lemekani Chirwa instructed his officers to hound him out of the conference hall for unknown reasons.

    He said the incident happened shortly after his name was announced as a newly ratified member of the PF central committee member.

    Mr Ngulube lamented that the action by police was also extended to his professional assistant Thandizo Banda, who he said was accused of of filming the deliberations in full view of the senior party members.

    “The latest of many instances of police harassment on me under the command of Mr Chirwa happened at Nkrumah University during the PF general conference , when he instructed his officers to hound me out of the conference for unknown reasons which almost disrupted the smooth flow of the conference,” reads the letter in parts.
