Police arrest two Ndola women who inserted a round bar into a young woman’s vagina

POLICE on the Copperbelt have arrested two women who allegedly indecently assaulted a 17 year old girl and inserted a round bar into her vagina. Copperbelt province police commissioner Elias Chushi says the incident happened on Saturday last weekend.

He said Jacqueline Nanyinza 27 and Catherine Mpamba 28, both of Chipulukusu Compound, Ndola accused the victim of flirting with Jacqueline’s husband.

Mr Chushi said the two women enticed the victim to accompany them to Catherine’s house where she would be given some wigs to plait her hair. He said while there, the victim was beaten, undressed and photographed naked.

Mr Chushi said the duo inserted a round bar into the victim’s vagina and scorned her. ” After her humiliation, she went to the Police Station and reported the matter.

The duo are in police custody and will appear in court soon,” he said.

Woman killed at an over night prayer meeting in Lusaka, police say

A 45-YEAR OLD woman has been brutally murdered while another left unconscious in a church building by unknown criminals who also stole equipment worth K36,000.
The incident happened on April 15, between 02:30 and 05:00 hours at Omega Fire Ministries located in Chalala area in Lusaka.
Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale told Mwebantu in a statement police visited the scene and found two women lying in a pool of blood.
“Police in Lusaka received a report from Thokozile Tembo aged 29 of Chalala area in Lusaka in which it was reported that two Church members of Omega Fire Ministries identified as Rebecca Chongo aged 45 residents of Chalala area and Jane Soko aged 35 of Chelstone were attacked by unknown people inside the church building,” Mr Mwale.
He said Ms Chongo was found dead with a stab wound on her left cheek while Ms Soko was found unconscious with cuts on her head and neck.
Mr Mwale said sharp instruments are believed to have been used in the act.
He said preliminary investigations revealed that there was an all-night prayer meeting at a named church which ended on April 15, 2021 around 02:30 hours and the two victims opted to stay in the church building as they did not have means to go to their respective homes in the night.
Mr Mwale said three black LG plasma television sets and one Yamaha mixer all valued at K36, 000 are reported to have been stolen from the church building.
“The body of the deceased was deposited in UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem while the unconscious woman is receiving treatment at Chilenje Level One hospital. Police have since instituted Investigations into the matter,” Mr Mwale said.

Police arrest Correctional officer of Mansa for attempted murder

A 31-YEAR-OLD Correctional officer of Mansa has been arrested for attempted murder.

On April 9, 2021 at 19:30 hours, Frederick Chishimba shot at Pathias Bwale aged 19 whom he suspected of being a thief.
Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale confirmed the incident in a statement issued yesterday.

He said the incident occurred at Regional Correctional offices in Mansa, Luapula Province.

Mr Mwale said the victim sustained a bullet wound on his left foot.

“The suspect is in police custody awaiting court appearance,” Mr Mwale said.

Police charge and arrest Malambo, Sejani, Simooloka and Lilanda with the offence of abduction

POLICE in Lusaka have formally charged and arrested Fines Malambo, Ackson Sejani, Javern Simooloka and Vincent Lilanda with the offence of Abduction.

Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale said the four are still detained in police custody awaiting court appearance.

Last week, police disclosed that they were investigating and looking for Pheluna Hatembo and Milton Hatembo who are alleged to have been abducted.

The two are witnesses in the case United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema is alleged to have fraudulently acquired farm number 1924 in Kalomo.

Mr Mwale further said claims in some sections of the media that the two are being held for their own safety are not true as police is keenly following leads which will assist in the arrest of the duo.

“The assertion that Police knows the whereabouts of Pheluna and Milton Hatembo is not true and should be treated with utmost disregard,” Mr Mwale said.
