Police raise K 591, 075.00 from admission of guilt fines during New Year Holidays

THE Zambia police service has raised K 591, 075.00 as admission of guilt fines from various offences during the 2021 New Year Holidays.
In a statement, Zambia Police Service Public Relations Officer Esther Katongo told Mwebantu that a total amount of K 434,270.00 was raised in admission of guilt fines in 2020 as compared to K591, 075.00 raised this year’s holiday.
Mrs Katongo said the admission of guilt has risen by K156, 805.00.

POLICE on the Copperbelt province have received a report of Incest which a 70-year-old man of Ndola has been sexually abusing his 16-year-old granddaughter.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said the victim is alleged to have been abused between January 2015 and January 10 this year.
She said police have since instituted investigations into the matter.
“Police received victim which a female adult of Pamodzi VLC reported that her cousin aged 16 years had been abused sexually on several occasions by her biological grandfather aged 70 years, the recent one being on 10th January, 2021,” she said.
Meanwhile, police in Kitwe have arrested a woman identified as Dorothy Sakala for allegedly assaulting her ex-husband Blessings Kasongo 32 of Chimwemwe Township by pouring hot water on him.
Mrs Katongo said the incident happened when the victim went to his ex-wife’s house to warn her to stop going to his house.
“This infuriated the suspect who poured hot water on him. He sustained burns on the left side of the face, left shoulder, and on the back. He is currently admitted to Kitwe Teaching Hospital,” she said.
Mrs Katongo said Ms Sakala is currently in police custody.
