ZAMBIAN Ambassador to Ethiopia Emmanuel Mwamba says citizens working abroad should maximize their contribution towards the country’s economic development.
And Mwamba says President Edgar Lungu regards Zambians working in the Diaspora as an important resource for national development.
Speaking during the 11th edition of the Mwape Peer Awards that recognizes Zambians who have excelled in their different professions and have made impact in their communities, Mwamba further requested citizens in the Diaspora to promote trade and investment opportunities to attract more investment in the country.
Mwamba said Zambia had shifted its foreign policy from traditional to Economic diplomacy with a view of attract more economic investments and partnerships for the country.
According to a statement issued by First Secretary for Press and Tourism at the Zambian Embassy in Ethiopia Inutu Mwanza, Mwamba said it is the government’s decision to establish the Diaspora policy in order to ensure that no one is left out of the country’s development agenda.
Chishimba Kambwili granted K100,000 cash bail
OPPOSITION National Democratic Congress (NDC) party leader Chishimba Kambwili has been granted K100,000 cash bail.

Lusaka principal resident magistrate David Simusamba ordered that Kambwili should provide two working sureties from reputable organisations who are also ordered to pay K100,000 each.
Kambwili was convicted and jailed to a year in prison on October 14, 2020 and has been incarcerated at Kamwala Remand Prison.
He was convicted for forgery and uttering a false document in relation to the registration of Mwamona Engineering and Technical Services at the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA).
