Livingstone Artist murders Headman after suspecting him of having a sexual affair with his wife

AN artist has been arrested and charged of murdering a 60-year-old headman of Siamatete village in Chief Mukuni on suspicion that he was having an intimate relationship with his wife.
Brian Sibajene 38 was arrested in connection with the murder of Patrick Mapulanga, a headman.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said in a statement that the incident happened on September 9, this year.
She said Joseph Mapulanga 43 of Dambwa Site and Service in Livingstone reported that his elder brother, Patrick was found lying dead on the ground in a pool of blood with multiple deep cuts on the head and the face in Muntumuswana Village of Chief Mukuni about 1 Kilometer away from the deceased’s village.
Mrs Katongo said investigations were instituted into the matter which later led to the apprehension of Sibajene also of Chief Mukuni, an Artist by profession.
“According to preliminary investigations, the suspect allegedly murdered the victim on suspicion that he had an intimate relationship with the suspects wife aged 35 who he was intending to reconcile with as they were on separation,” Mrs Katongo said.
She said a stick stained with blood suspected to have been used in the act has been recovered.
Mrs Katongo said Sibajene is in police custody charged with murder and will appear in court soon.

Mpika man dies after wife crashed his genitals with brick

A MAN of Mpika has died after his wife allegedly hit his gentals with a brick during a violent marital dispute.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said in an interview yesterday that 37-year-old Julius Mwila, of Chitulika village was allegedly murdered by Salome Mwila 25 on Friday night, reports Zambia Daily Mail.

Katongo said the couple had a marital dispute and a quarrel degenerated into a fight and the eventual death of Mr Mwila.

“The wife allegedly hit het husband with a half-burnt brick on the genitals, causing him to sustain general body pains. Mr Mwila later died in his house,” said Katongo.

Man kills girlfriend and steals over K 91,000 she was keeping home, police say

A 35-year-old man has allegedly killed his 38-year-old girlfriend who was a custodian of social cash transfer funds in Chifunabuli district in Luapula Province.
Luapula Province Deputy Commissioner of Police, Davis Simwanza confirmed the sad incident.
The suspect, who is on the run, has allegedly disappeared with over K91,000 meant to pay Social Cash Transfer beneficiaries that the late teacher was keeping in the house.
Police identified the deceased, as Annet Lutanda, a teacher at Sashi Primary School in Chifunabuli.
Police say the deceased was found lying lifeless on the floor in her home with a deep cut on her forehead as she was hit with a pounding stick and her mouth and neck were tied with a chitenge material.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited to Mansa General Hospital Mortuary awaiting post mortem.

Police arrest a 70-year-old man for sexually abusing his 16-year-old granddaughter

POLICE on the Copperbelt province have received a report of Incest which a 70-year-old man of Ndola has been sexually abusing his 16-year-old granddaughter.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said the victim is alleged to have been abused between January 2015 and January 10 this year.

She said police have since instituted investigations into the matter.

“Police received victim which a female adult of Pamodzi VLC reported that her cousin aged 16 years had been abused sexually on several occasions by her biological grandfather aged 70 years, the recent one being on 10th January, 2021,” she said.

Meanwhile, police in Kitwe have arrested a woman identified as Dorothy Sakala for allegedly assaulting her ex-husband Blessings Kasongo 32 of Chimwemwe Township by pouring hot water on him.

Mrs Katongo said the incident happened when the victim went to his ex-wife’s house to warn her to stop going to his house.

“This infuriated the suspect who poured hot water on him. He sustained burns on the left side of the face, left shoulder, and on the back. He is currently admitted to Kitwe Teaching Hospital,” she said.

Mrs Katongo said Ms Sakala is currently in police custody.
