LOCAL Government Minister Charles Banda has with immediate effect suspended Lusaka City Council (LCC), and Kitwe City Council for three months for illegal land allocation.
Speaking at a joint press briefing which was held together with his Lands Counterpart Jean Kapata, Banda said this is in order to allow the ministry deal with the ills that have been happening at the councils.
He said it is hoped that during the three months suspension, all civic leaders at the two councils will introspect and come back as better councillors.
And Banda has warned other councils that might want to be on the wrong side of law that they will not be spared.
