Lafarge Zambia partners with Stanbic Bank for the music festival

LAFARGE Zambia has once again partnered with Stanbic Bank Zambia for the sponsorship of the 2018 Stanbic Music Festival, which is scheduled for October 5-6, 2018.

Lafarge the nation’s leader in manufacturing of building materials and building solutions will co-sponsor the country’s largest music event of the year with a sponsorship of one hundred thousand (K100, 000.00)

Speaking at the partnership announcement event, at a Press briefing held at Lafarge Head Office this morning, Lafarge Zambia Chief Executive Officer, Mr Vincent Bouckaert said the partnership demonstrates how Lafarge Zambia Plc is commitment to creating shared and sustainable value for our stakeholders towards uplifting local communities through our Strategic Social Investments.

“We have supported the Lafarge Lusaka Marathon which generates income to various charities such as the Cheshire homes, the Arthur Davison Hospital, the Livingstone General hospital, We have supported Art and Culture by investing in traditional ceremonies such as the Cuundu cultural fund, Chikwela makumbi and now the Stanbic Musical Festival,” he said

Mr Bouckaert further said Sponsorships such as the Music Festival demonstrates how grateful Lafarge Zambia is to its loyal Customers who have stood with the Company in every circumstance and contributed to the overall performance.

And Stanbic Corporate and Investment Director Ms Helen Lubamba said she was happy to have Lafarge Zambia come on board this year to sponsor the prestigious Music Festive event.

“We are happy to have Lafarge Zambia on board in sponsoring this prestigious event as a silver sponsor. I would like to thank Lafarge for this partnership and we look forward to continued initiatives in working together,” She said.

She further said this initiative was meant to create a legendary platform that offers artistic event that will contribute to Zambia culture and local tourism.

Zamtel named Most Improved and Innovative Enterprise

ZAMTEL has been named “The Most Improved Enterprise” and the “Most Innovative Enterprise” by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC).

The awards were presented to Zamtel Board Chairman Mr. Danny Luswili and Chief Executive Officer Mr Sydney Mupeta at the IDC Awards Gala held in Livingstone over the weekend by the Minister of Finance Hon. Bwalya Ng’andu.

In announcing the awards, IDC Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mateyo Kaluba attributed the win to Zamtel’s determination and success in rebuilding its business and its focus in driving innovation.

The award for the “Most Innovative Enterprise” was given to Zamtel for its Velocity home internet product which has transformed the internet experience in Zambia.

Commenting on the awards, Mr Mupeta thanked Zamtel staff for their contribution in the transformation that is taking place across the business.

“We are proud of this recognition which speaks to the transformational journey we have been on to improve our business. Over the last few years we have been developing a number of digital solutions and we will continue to innovate and deliver the best products to meet our customer’s ever evolving needs,” Mr Mupeta said.
