Police reveal murders of two young women and dumped in maize fields near their respective Residences are linked.Police in Lusaka have revealed that two young women who were discovered dead in Chilanga yesterday and today were murdered by the same perpetrator. Zambia Police Service Public Relations Officer Esther Mwaata Katongo has told Mwebantu that they suspect that both the murders were connected because two young women where dumped in maize fields near their respective residences. Cecilia Mulekwa, 16, a grade eleven pupil at City of Hope in Bonaventure, Makeni and was last seen on Friday, February, 17th 2017 around 16:00 hours along Chilanga quarry road. Her body was discovered today February, 23rd, 2017 dumped in maize field. “The body was also found with deep cuts,” Mrs Katongo said. Ann Musonda, 22, a student teacher of Makeni Islamic College of Education was reported missing on Friday , February, 17th 2017 after knocking off and was found dead yesterday, February,22nd, 2017 at 10: 50 hours between Mulikita Farms and Lafarge quarry road by a passerby of Freedom compound . “The body which was found few meters from her residence was found with deep cuts in the head and injuries on both hands”, Mrs Katongo said. “The two victims are believed to have been murdered by the same person and the murderer dumped their bodies in maize fields near their respective residences,” the police spokesperson said. Mrs Katongo appealed to members of the public throughout Lusaka to avoid moving unaccompanied in lone areas as this perpetrator is still on the loose and all efforts are being made by police to have the perpetrator arrested. She said all officers in charge of police stations are being called upon to intensify their operations and be on a look out for this criminal. She says that the two victims are believed to have been murdered by the same person and the murderer dumped their bodies in maize fields near their respective residences.

Police arrest couple over their pornographic video on social media with gospel music playing in the background
POLICE in Lusaka have arrested a couple for allegedly circulating their pornographic video on social media with gospel music playing in the background.
In a media statement issued, police spokesperson Esther Katongo said police through the Cyber Crime Unit commenced investigations into a case of obscene material which was circulating on various social media platforms with gospel music playing in the background. She said investigations into the matter led to the arrest of John Chewe aged 31, a pharmacist and Angela Kapumba aged 24, a dental assistant both working at a private Hospital in Lusaka.
Mrs Katongo said the duo had initially reported to Luckson Mapushi Police Post from where they obtained a Police report that on February 19,between 02:00 hours and 05:00 hours, unknown people had broken into their motor vehicle and stole a phone which was containing the said video and later circulated on various social media platforms without their knowledge.
She however said investigations revealed that there was no such incidence involving the theft of the mobile phone in question and that the report given to police was aimed distancing themselves from what was circulating on social media.
“Chewe and Kapumba have been warn and cautioned for the offences of Prohibition of Pornography Contrary to section 102(a)(b) of the Electronic and Communications Transaction Act number 21 of 2009,Making a False Document contrary to section 344 , CAP 87, Uttering a false document contrary to section 352 of Cap 87 and Giving false information to a public officer contrary to section 125, CAP 87 of the Laws of Zambia,” she said.
Mrs Katongo said the couple detained in police custody yet to be charged and will appear in court soon.
