Renard disappointed with 2-1 away friendly loss to South Korea.
- Updated: August 17, 2012
Zambia coach Herve Renard says he is disappointed with his side’s 2-1 away friendly loss to South Korea.
Renard said the game was a good buildup for his team ahead of Zambia’s 2013 Africa Cup qualifier against Uganda.
“I was grateful for the practice match yet not satisfied with the result,” Renard said.
“It gave me an opportunity to see new players in different positions. It has been an intense preparation for Uganda.”
Renard also lamented the absence of five key players who include Rainford Kalaba because of club commitments at TP Mazembe in DR Congo and captain Christopher Katongo due to injury.
“But so is football. We continue to work,” the Frenchman said.
Zambia hosts Uganda on September 8 in a third round first leg qualifier at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
